Book Bites Book Club

Book Bites Book Club meets the 4th Thursday of every month at 6:30pm. Read what you like to read. Come prepared to talk about a book you have read, and enjoy a bite of something yummy!

At Book Bites there isn’t a reading list. Everyone reads what they want and shares about what they’ve read. It’s a great way to learn about new books.

Anime Club

Anime Club is free and open to people ages 13+ on the 3rd Thursday of every month from 5-6 pm. We welcome long time fans and those that want to find out more to come join us.

Join the Anime club for an evening of watching various anime’s, snacks, and conversations about what they are watching or manga (graphic novels). Feel free to bring your drawings, coloring, or other portable projects to work on while enjoying yourself.

Snacks are often provided at meetings.

What is anime?

Anime is short for animation, most commonly Japanese animation. It was made popular in America through series such as Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, Sailor Moon, Yu Yu Hakasho and Dragon Ball Z.
Anime is not just for kids. There is a diverse market for it in Japan. You can find series and movies for various age groups and interest.

Chess club is open to all ages, players of all skill level can come to learn and play.

The club meets every Monday at 6pm.

Friends of the Cushing Public Libray, Inc:

Who we are:

The Friends of the Cushing Public Library, Inc. is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization established in October 2010. Our purpose is to support and promote the Cushing Public Library.

Get to know us:

Friends meetings are generally held on the 2nd Thursday of every month starting at 6:00pm. Meetings are open to the public.

Who can join:

Anyone who loves the library and would like to support it is welcome to become a member. Membership applications can be picked up at the Library Circulation desk or at any of the Friends functions. It is $10 for one person per year (Jan-Dec) or $150 for a lifetime membership.

What we do:

  • We support the library by helping out with programs and events as the library needs us.
  • We have fundraisers throughout the year.

Donations:

We accept book, magazine, audio/video items and monetary donations. A receipt is available upon request.
