Getting a Library Card
Residents of Cushing, Payne County or those that live within our service area, ages 6+, are eligible for a free library card. An individual employed in Cushing may also apply for a card. A parent or legal guardian must apply for children 6-17.
To get a library card you will need to:
- Fill out an application at the library.
- Provide a valid photo ID. (See below)
- Provide proof of residency. (See below)
- Provide proof of employment in Cushing if your home address is outside of our service area. (See below)
Library cards are mailed. Please allow 5-7 days.
Borrowing from the Library
Most items check out for 14 days
Exceptions: New Adult Fiction, Magazines, DVD's, the Library of Things and high demand or reserved items.
Some collections, such as DVD's and Library of Things, can only be checked out on an Adult Account.
Renewing Items
Most materials without a hold can be renewed up to five times.
Exceptions: New Adult Fiction and DVD's can be renewed one time. Audiobooks can be renewed two times. High demand items cannot be renewed. Library of Things items renewal options can be found on the item's information sheet.
Ways to renew:
- Bring the item to the library and talk to staff.

- Log into your library account and renew online.
Computers & Internet
Our internet access is filtered. Public Computers are available for use with a completed Computer Usage Form. Black and white printing available for a fee.

Free WiFi is available.
Public Computers
Internet Access Computers - Adults
To use one of our computers, for your first visit you will need:
- a current, government issued photo ID
- to read and sign a computer usage form
Computer sessions are limited to one session per day for up to one hour.
Internet Access Computers - Minors, ages 6-17
A parent or legal guardian must bring their ID, see above, and complete a form for their child to use a computer.
Early Literacy Computer - Children, ages 2-5
Our Friends group has provided an Early Literacy Computer with numerous educational games and programs for children ages 2-5.
A parent or legal guardian must bring their ID and complete a form for their child.
This computer has no internet access.
Printing
Printing is available for a fee. We have a B&W printer that can print from library computers. It is 10 cents per page, maximum 50 pages, cash only. Wireless printing isn't available.
Copier
We have a B&W copier available to the public. It is 15 cents for a letter size copy and 40 cents for a legal size copy.
The Library copier cannot print digital files.
Interlibrary Loan
If the library doesn't have the book, movie or other item you need, ask us about getting it from another library in the network. We may be able to find what you need. Please ask!
There's a postage fee for an Interlibrary loan. If we are unable to borrow the item requested, the postage fee will be refunded.
